Once the rope is unrolled from the rotational shaft with a concentric activity the inertia and kinetic energy of the spinning flywheel connected to the shaft induced the rope to roll up in the opposite direction requiring the athlete to perform an eccentric action to decelerate the rope and begin a new exercise cycle.
