This Carpenter Pencil is made by Viarco, the oldest and only pencil manufacturer in Portugal. The company was founded by industrialist and entrepreneur Manoel Vieira de Araújo in the 1930s, and is still family-owned to this day. Viarco, which is an acronym for Vieira Araújo & Companhia, has been brought back into the spotlight thanks to A Vida Portuguesa, a Lisbon-based, women-owned shop focused on the traditional craft of Portugal. This classic pencil is made of graphite designed to be used on wood or stone for professional carpentry.
