
A Message Of Sympathy And Comfort
Our hearts reach out to you with sympathy for your recent loss. We know how difficult this time can be, and want to assure you that you are not alone. God has allowed a loved one to be taken from you, but God has not left you. The Bible reminds us that God is the “God of all comfort” who sustains us through these difficult times so we can bring His comfort to others who are hurting (2 Corinthians 1:2-4). God Knows Your Pain Because God created us, He knows intimately the depth of sorrow which the human heart can feel. Jesus, the Son of God, experienced this sorrow for Himself when His dear friend Lazarus died. The Bible records His heart-felt reaction in the Bible’s shortest verse: “Jesus wept” (John 11:35). God knows your pain. Now try to picture Jesus, a perfectly innocent young Man, suffering and dying on the shameful cross. Because of that dreadful day, we can be assured that God knows—really knows—the sorrow of seeing a loved one suffer, the tragedy of an “untimely” passing, and t
