
A Heavenly View (KJV)
The picture on the front shows a view of the earth from the heavens above. Few people have ever experienced such a view firsthand, but those who have are doubtless left without words great enough to describe what they have seen. There is another heavenly view which all of us can take. In fact, it’s a view we must take. A heavenly view of ourselves.God’s Word, the Bible, gives us this view. From God’s heavenly viewpoint, “there is none righteous, no, not one” for “all have sinned and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:10,23). In God’s eyes “all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags,” and “man’s heart is evil from his youth” (Isaiah 64:6, Genesis 8:21). This is not a comforting view of mankind. Many today contend that people are generally good, but in God’s holy sight “there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not” (Ecclesiastes 7:20).Where does this leave us?
