
Hope in the Midst of a Pandemic
We are in the midst of a pandemic and there is fear and panic, but it is important to remember that “God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7).The virus is affecting everyone regardless of gender, religion, race, or status. This widespread tragedy has caused a lot of people to search for a reason this is happening now.Even if we can’t figure out the exact reason why this pandemic exists, there are lessons we can learn from this time of trouble. In the Bible, we read about a time when the camp of the Children of Israel was infested with deadly serpents (see Numbers chapter 21). This historical event helps us to understand God can use times such as these to draw our attention back to Himself, especially when He is seeking repentance. Numbers 21:5-6 says “And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no bread, neither is there any water
