He is the most famous miracle worker of the 18th Century. A well documented series of supernatural events, including ecstasies, prophecies, healings, bilocations, multiplication of foods and the reading of consciences. His direction and advice was sought by clergy and nuns. Two of his miracles deal with women who almost died in labor. He died of tuberculosis. Gerard is patron of lay brothers, mothers and expectant mothers. His feast is October 16.
