This is an uncommon Vèvè for Papa Legba called "Legba Carrefour."  He's First and Last. The Crossroads. The Gates. The Doors. Opening and closing. Communications, interpreted. Having a foot in each world explains the limp. The Greatest Trickster. The most cherished and respected. I spent 20+ hours carving this design into a piece of classic, Battleship Gray Linoleum. I used red oil-based ink and one of my manual presses to transfer each to natural, acid-free printmaking paper made from kozo and hemp in a Japanese Mill that has been creating such Fine Art papers for over 300 years. After the ink dried, I made each all the more unique with Sumi and brush, pen and ink and Ritual Offerings [cane sugar, coffee, incense]. Each hand-torn, signed print is approximately 9" × 12". Each is delivered to you rolled, as is only befitting a Ceremonial Scroll.
