Dane is very dark, but manageable. He was only 8 years old when he was turned, and he wasn't happy about it at the time it happened, though he always had a fascination with vampires. He just wasn't ready to become one at 8 years of age.  His brother is the one who turned him, and his father is the one responsible for turning his brother. His mother was responsible for turning his father. So they kept it in the family.  His mother, father, and brother still live.
