MXR M76 Studio Compressor

The MXR Studio Compressor is a clean quiet compressor designed for the best and cleanest possible signal. A compressor of this nature, in our view, should be without distortion, without alteration of tone, and quiet. This compressor fits that bill.  So what should a compressor do in general? Imagine the volume range of your playing, the loudest louds and the quietest quiets. Not only is there a volume difference, but there's a tone difference between the two playing styles. A compressor will squish those volume differences closer together while maintaining those tones.
