FROZEN Miyeok Guk (32oz)
Miyeok Guk is a postpartum soup eaten by many Korean women after childbirth to aid in recovery. The practice may have arisen from observing mother whales eating seaweed after giving birth. It's also entwined with Korean spiritual practices around the triple goddess, Samsin Halmoni. The soup is made with miyeok, a seaweed also called wakame in Japanese, and sea mustard in English. Undaria pinnatifida is its scientific name. Miyeok is high in nutrients, including calcium and iodine. Our version use of local beef; other ingredients include garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil and salt. Comes frozen in a 32oz paper container. SLIDING SCALE Pay what can! Our goal is to feed postpartum birthing people, no matter who they are or how much money they have.
