The Citronella Scented Geranium is also known as the Mosquito Plant. The citronella fragrance is said to keep the bugs away when grown in pots and used around seating areas.Some recent reports have proven the bug repelling property is most effective when plants are rubbed. Scented geranium plants can be grown in patio pots or in the herb garden. I like to plant them along the pathways where the fragrance can be appreciated when it is brushed against. This listing is for a fully rooted plant grown in a 4 inch nursery pot. The Citronella fragrance can be released by crushing the leaves between your fingers or a light misting from the hose. Keep in mind that the scented geraniums like many herbs prefer to grow on the dry side. Scented Geraniums can grow up to 2 feet tall. This variety does bear sporadic pink flowers in the summer. I treat scented pelargoniums as annuals here in my zone 6 garden. They are easy to pot up and bring indoors for the winter at the end of the growing season. Mo
