Sodium Chloride Ophthalmic Ointment 5% is an eye medication used for a variety of conditions involving the cornea and conjunctival membranes of the eye, such as recurrent corneal erosions, ulcers, or dystrophies as well as after any eye surgery and to adhere contact lenses in place. Sodium Chloride Ointment should be used at bedtime or as directed by a physician after minor eye surgery and whenever there is dryness, discomfort, irritation, or a red eye is present, to provide a protective barrier between the surface of the eye and the outside environment.
