Artist: Jean Cocteau Medium: Lithographic Poster, 1957 Dimensions: 25.5 x 17.75 in, 64.8 x 45.1 cm Arches Paper - Excellent Condition A This lovely original lithographic poster by Jean Cocteau was created to promote the artist's new ceramic creations. During his career, Cocteau made more than three hundred experimental ceramic pieces at the workshop of Madeline Jolly, famously alikening the colour of skin to the pink colour of clay on which he 'tattooed' his drawings. This poster playfully references his artisan ceramics, reading 'Jean Cocteau Plates - feed both your eyes and your mouth'. Like his drawings, his ceramics featured clean, graphic lines. Many are inspired by myth and legend.
