This tapestry was created from a "carton" or a "patron" (an original pattern) from which the craftsmen base themselves to weave the work. The subject of the image is Le Cadre Noir, which is the dressage school for the French Cavalry, in Saumur, France. This poster was reproduced by Mourlot Master Printer Henri Deschamps who worked closely with Dufy in the past.
