Based on the diary of an unknown Viet Cong soldier. During the Vietnam War, Army Capt. Keene (Beau Bridges) is taken prisoner by Ho (Liem Whatley), a teen member of the Viet Cong, and moved to an enemy base. Once there, Ho learns that Col. Tuong (Haing S. Ngor) plans to abuse Keene. The young man -- certain that Keene could have killed him but opted not to -- disregards Tuong,s orders and brings Keene to another base, where he might receive better treatment.
