Girls: The Complete First Season
Acclaimed indie filmmaker Lena Dunham ("Tiny Furniture") is the creator of this comedy about a quartet of single, twentysomething women navigating their way through life and love in New York. Dunham also stars as Hannah Horvath, an aspiring writer who, as the series opens, loses the financial support of her parents (Becky Ann Baker, Peter Scolari) as well as her unpaid internship. Hannah's inner circle includes Marnie (Allison Williams), her roommate, best friend and Oberlin College classmate who works at a gallery but can't decide if she's ready to commit to her boyfriend, Charlie (Christopher Abbott); the nomadic Jessa (Jemima Kirke), who dabbles in babysitting and catches the eye of a venture capitalist (Chris O'Dowd); Jessa's cousin Shoshanna (Zosia Mamet), a rabid "Sex and the City" fan who's still in college; Adam (Adam Driver), Hannah's part-time lover who doesn't let anyone get too close; and Ray (Alex Karpovsky), a cynical friend of Charlie's who manages a coffee shop.
