"Last Stand of the Great Bear" follows wolves, bears and salmon in a British Columbia rain forest known as Great Bear. It is, says narrator Keith David, "a rare alchemy of sea and earth and air." It's also one of the last intact temperate rain forests in North America, but it's endangered by logging, pollution and fish farming. The conservationists tracking the animals also find other dangers. Female grizzlies, for instance, often won't mate if they already have cubs---so males will try to kill their babies.
