This fascinating collection of early 1970s prog-rock was the first and last release from this trio, which comprised members of the Nice (after its keyboardist and leader, Keith Emerson, had left to form ELP), and Emerson's Swiss replacement, Patrick Moraz. The pieces, which include jazz-rock as well as prog, are made up of suites, movements, themes, variations, and other borrowings from classical music, and though the music perhaps lacks the histrionic, knife-wielding edginess of the vintage Emerson-led Nice, the performances are uniformly excellent.
