Your Friends and Neighbors

Neil LaBute's second film, the scathing Your Friends & Neighbors comes to DVD with a pair of transfers. The widescreen anamorphic transfer preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 2.35:1 and is preferable in every way to the standard full-frame image. English soundtracks are rendered in both Dolby Digital 5.1 and Dolby Digital Surround. English, Spanish, and French subtitles are accessible. Supplemental materials include a commentary track recorded by LaBute and the film's producer, Steve Golin. Fans of LaBute's pointed style should enjoy his comments on the screenplay and Golin offers some insights into the difficulties that came about from working with a minimal budget. The theatrical trailer, and biographies for the cast members round out this solid release from Universal.
