Acer palmatum 'Jim's Memory'RARE DWARF RED JAPANESE MAPLE TREE Zones 5-9 'Jim's Memory' is a unique dwarf Japanese maple with smaller red foliage, a dense habit, and is vigorous at a young age. It was found as a witches' broom, often referred to as a blessing by Bob Mcafferty. I like this term "blessing" better than witches' broom because it gives credit to God for creating a dwarf version of Japanese maple, rather than implying a witch mutated it. 'Jim's Memory' has a nice shade of red to the foliage. It reaches 3-4 ft in height and width in 10 years. Fall color is a brighter scarlet red. 'Jim's Memory' was named after legendary maple expert and nurserymen, Jim Schmidt.
