Acer palmatum dissectum 'Waterfall' Weeping Green Laceleaf Japanese Maple Zones 5-9 'Waterfall' is a great weeping green laceleaf Japanese maple with a show in the fall. This Japanese maple tree is very heat tolerant and can grow in either sun or shade conditions. 'Waterfall' has very pendulous and its cascading look that gives it its name. The leaf is slightly larger than many other green dissectums. This tree can grow slightly wider than it does tall reaching 5 ft in height by 6 ft in width in 10 years. The ‘Waterfall’ Japanese maple makes an excellent large potted patio tree but can also be used as specimen plant in any landscape. The spring color is a bright almost neon green and the fall color ranges from yellow to gold. After years of observation, we believe ‘Waterfall’ and ‘Viridis’ to now be the exact same cultivar in the nursery trade today.
