Stellwagen Bank is a solo for Bassoon and Piano from the collection Scenes from the Cape. This collection is dedicated to my brother, Jerry Nelson, who was a musician and puppeteer with the Muppets. This MRNS Music Digital Download will include the Bassoon and Piano parts, a brief description of the solo, a SmartMusic file, and a MP3 accompaniment file. Audio recordings are available on the MRNS Music Channel on YouTube. Stellwagen Bank is a National Marine Sanctuary that is just above Provincetown at the mouth of the Massachusetts Bay. This piece was inspired by a whale watching trip there. Some fast finger technique is introduced as a special effect which depicts riding on the waves.
