Hermit crabs need fresh water and a saltwater pool made with Instant Ocean deep enough for them to fully go into. To make hermit crab saltwater dump salt into either warm water or let sit overnight to dissolve the salt. You will receive salt in a bag or container (which may vary). Keep the salt sealed. Humidity will make it clump. Mix 64 oz with 1/2 gallon bag of salt. Contains 1/4 cup salt Mix 128 oz with 1 gallon bag of salt. Contains 1/2 cup salt
