***This listing is for 1oz of dried flowers***   Wild-crafted Country of origin: Thailand Blue lotus, or Nymphaea caerulea, is a species of water lily with a long history of use in ancient Egypt and Greece. It was considered sacred by the Egyptians and was used in religious rituals and as a mild inebriant when soaked in wine. Many Egyptian pharaohs were buried with blue lotus flowers, and they are frequently depicted in art found in their tombs. Blue lotus contains a variety of compounds including aporphine, nuciferine, nornuciferine, phytosterols, flavonoids, and polyphenols. When used in tea, a good starting dose seems to be between 2-4 grams (approx. 1-3 flower heads), though higher doses are not uncommon. Blue lotus combines well with many other herbs in tea blends. It is my personal favorite herb, and I often describe its effects as feeling much like meditation.
