Byzantine Beaded Earrings

The history of the jewelry These earrings, a product of the Byzantine Empire, were assembled from a flat sheet of gold, boasting a patterned cutout design. Complemented by beaded wire, the earrings feature a cross and a crescent, exuding a polished feel similar to the notable crescent and peacock earrings known from that era. The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts holds the earrings as part of its collection.  Materials: bronze with Russian gold finish
