Unflinching photographs of people in neighborhoods, streets, yards, and public communal spaces document the duality of struggle and hope. The people depicted are juxtaposed within compositions that point to visual markers of humanity in the landscape, either unintended or by design. Together, the works present a collision of past and present that question ideas of time, resilience, place, and community.
