This lapel pin brooch is adapted from a detail of Gustave Caillebotte's Paris Street; Rainy Day (1877) now in the collection of the Art Institute of Chicago, Illinois. It illustrates a pair of late nineteenth century Parisians walking along the newly rebuilt and widened streets of Paris carrying an umbrella in the afternoon rain.
