Rene Magritte's surrealist statue The Healer (le Therapeute) illustrates a man sitting on a rock with the most unexpected torso -- a bird cage with two birds. We see that it is a man because of the hat, hands, panted legs, walking stick and briefcase. However, the void where the man's torso would appear, Magritte has instead placed a bird cage. True to the Surrealism art movement, the sculpture is an unexpected combination of the real and the imaginary. Part of the museum reproduction collection created by Parastone Mouseion 3D. PN MAG07 The details have been recreated in resin with a bronze finish, and metal wire to make the bird cage. Measures 7 3/4 in H x 8 in W x 4 1/2 in D. Weighs 3.5 lbs. Licensed reproduction. During the last year of Rene Magritte's life, the renowned gallery owner Alexandre Iolas asked him whether he had ever considered making sculptures. The painter had definitely given that some thought, but the sculptures would have to be based on motifs from his paintings
