The album was certified 3x Multi-Platinum by the RIAA on Oct. 12, 1999 for three million copies sold. On the strength of singles "Because of You" and "The Hardest Thing", which went to #3 and #5, respectively, on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, the album itself peaked at #14 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart.
