Anderson Bruford Wakeman Howe RIAA Gold Album Award
RIAA Gold Album Award for Anderson Bruford Wakeman Howe self-titled album. Released on June 20, 1989 it was certified Gold by the RIAA for 500,000 copies sold later that year on August 30. Hard to find award for this single album super group. Yes lead vocalist Jon Anderson joined with 1971-72 Yes and King Crimson alums Bill Bruford, Steve Howe, Rick Wakeman and also bassist Tony Levin to form this short-lived group. They scored a hit with single "Brother Of Mine", which reached #2 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. Interesting trivia: Unable to use the Yes name for legal reasons, the group had Arista Records assign catalog number 90126 to the release, signaling it as Yes's follow up to their 1983 album 90125. The album reached #30 on the Top 200 Albums chart. >See image above for RIAA sales certification of the album*.
