Black Box Dreamland RIAA Gold Album Award
RIAA Gold Album Award for the Black Box album Dreamland. Released on June 1, 1990, by May 6, 1991 it was certified Gold by the RIAA for 500,000 copies sold. The house group from Italy scored with this album that featured the dance hits "Everybody", "Ride On Time", "Strike It Up", and cover of Earth, Wind & Fire track "Fantasy". The album is partly well-known since Loleatta Holloway and Martha Wash sang on it, and a Dan Hartman-penned track was heavily sampled, but none of them received credit. French Caribbean model Katrin Quinol lip synced in the group's videos and the impression was left that she was the lead vocalist. Nevertheless, the album reached #56 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart, #14 on the UK chart, and it charted in several other countries as well.
