RIAA Platinum album award for Bobby McFerrin album Simple Pleasures. Released on Mar. 23, 1988, the album was certified Platinum by the RIAA on Sept. 26, 1988 for one million copies sold. Buoyed by the evervescent a cappella joy of "Don't Worry, Be Happy" McFerrin's fourth album brought him much sucesss. The track was featured in the movie Cocktail and topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It also won McFerrin, an accomplished jazz vocalist, Grammy awards for Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best Male Pop Vocal Performance.
