RIAA Gold LP award for Chaka Khan album Chaka, which was released on Oct. 12, 1978. The album was certified Gold by the RIAA on Nov. 14, 1978 for 500,000 copies sold.  The album included Khan's cover of the Ashford & Simpson tune "I'm Every Woman", which became a signature hit and #1 Billboard R&B chart topper. Other hits included "Roll Me Through The Rushes" and the Stevie Wonder-penned "I Was Made To Love Him." The album peaked at #12 on the Billboard Top 200 Album chart and also charted in several other countries.
