Coldplay Parachutes RIAA Gold Album Award

RIAA Gold Album Award for Coldplay's debut studio album Parachutes, which was released on Nov. 14, 2000. The release was certified Gold by the RIAA for 500,000 copies sold on Feb. 27, 2001. Hit singles "Shiver", "Trouble", "Don't Panic" and "Yellow" all charted with the latter rising to #6 on the Billboard Alternative Airplay chart and #4 on the UK Singles chart. The album topped the UK Album chart and peaked at #51 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart while winning the group a Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album in 2002 and Best British Album at the 2001 Brit Awards.
