RIAA Gold Album Award for the debut album from Garbage. Released on Aug. 15, 1995, the album went Gold for 500,000 copies sold on May 1, 1996, which this award celebrates. Shirley Manson, Butch Vig and company's second album as Garbage produced the singles "Only Happy When It Rains", "Queer", "Stupid Girl" and others. The album peaked at #20 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart while reaching #6 on the UK Albums chart. "Stupid Girl" was nominated for the Grammy awards for Best Rock Song and for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group. By early 1999 the album was certified 2x Multi-Platinum for two million copies sold by the RIAA.
