The Lion King soundtrack RIAA 2x Multi-Platinum Album Award

RIAA 2x Multi-Platinum Album award for the soundtrack and sing-along album for the Disney motion picture The Lion King.  The album was released on April 27, 1994 and certified Platinum by the RIAA on Aug. 17, 1994. Although it was never officially certified 2x Multi-Platinum at any point, it skipped past that certification, ending up being certified an impressive 10x Multi-Platinum by 1995. Famously, the original songs on the album were written by Elton John and Tim Rice with Sir Elton performing some of the more memorable tracks including "Circle Of Life" and "Can You Feel The Love Tonight". The film score was written by Hans Zimmer.
