Melissa Etheridge Yes I Am Island Records label award
Island Records label award for Melissa Etheridge album Yes I Am, celebrating one million in sales. Released Sept. 21, 1993 as her fourth studio album, it was in fact certified at 6x Multi-Platinum by the RIAA for six million copies sold by 1996. (Note: This is not a RIAA award). Singles included "Come to My Window", which reached #25 on the Billboard Hot 100, "I'm the Only One" which hit #8, and "If I Wanted To", which peaked at #16. This is a label award from Island Records presented to radio promotion tip sheet FMQB to commemorate and thank them for their help in attaining a million sales. It's likely the award was made in 1994 given the presentation plate lists that the album had sold one million copies and shortly after that it far exceeded that total.
