Nirvana Nevermind RIAA Platinum Video Award

Platinum RIAA video award for Nirvana Nevermind. Nirvana's legendary album was released September 24, 1991, and this video chronicling the making of the classic album was released on Mar. 22, 2005. It was certified Platinum by the RIAA a couple of months later on May 11, 2005.  Simply put, Nevermind changed music. It effectively ushered out hair metal by delivering a new punk-infused raw rock sound. This video told the story of the recording album by featuring Nirvana band members Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic, and producer Butch Vig playing excerpts and discussing all the album's tracks, from "Smells Like Teen Spirit" to "Come as You Are", "Lithium", "In Bloom" and more. See image above for all the RIAA sales certifications of this video release*.
