RIAA 6x Multi-Platinum Award for *NSYNC's debut album, Platinum Home For Christmas album, and 500,000 copies of *N The Mix video. The debut album was released on May 26, 1997. The release was certified 6x Multi-Platinum by the RIAA on Mar. 4, 1999 for six million copies sold. Home For Christmas was released Nov. 10, 1998 and by Dec. 10, 1998 was certified Platinum for one million sold. *N The Mix was released Nov. 10 also and was certified 5x Platinum on May 10, 1999 for 500,000 sold of the video. The album that started it all for the group spawned hit singles "I Want You Back" and "Tearin' Up My Heart", which first were hits in Germany and Europe. The tracks later gained popularity in the U.S. and propelled their debut to #2 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart.
