Raydio and GQ Arista combo album award
Raydio Rock On and GQ Disco Nights Arista Records "gold" combo album award. The albums were both released in 1979 they were in fact certified Gold by the RIAA on Aug. 13, 1979 and May 8, 1979, respectively, each for 500,000 copies sold. The GQ (listed as G.Q. in RIAA records) album would go Platinum for one million later that year. Note: This is not a RIAA award. Raydio, the group created by Ray Parker, Jr., hit with the tracks "You Can't Change That" (a Top 10 Billboard Hot 100 chart hit) and "More Than One Way To Love A Woman". With their album Disco Nights, GQ scored disco hits with "Disco Nights (Rock-Freak)" and "Boogie Oogie Oogie".
