CRIA Gold Album award for Red Rider album Don't Fight It. This was the Canadian group's debut studio album, released on Oct. 23, 1979. It was certified Gold by the CRIA (Canadian Recording Industry Association) on Oct. 1, 1982, which this award celebrates. The album contained the hits "White Hot", which reached #20 in Canada. "Don't Fight It" and "Avenue A" also received airplay in Canada. The album rose to #146 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart as well. A Gold album in Canada represents 50,000 copies sold (in a country of, then, about 24 million people). The album was certified Platinum (100,000 copies sold) by 1989.
