The Jeff Healey Band See The Light CRIA Double Platinum Album Award
CRIA Double Platinum Album Award for The Jeff Healey Band album See The Light. Released on Sept. 13, 1988, it was certified Double Platinum by the CRIA (Canadian Recording Industry Association) on Jan. 31, 1989 for 200,000 copies sold (in a country of then just 27 million). Remember Jeff Healey (1966-2008) with this award. Robbed of his sight at age one due to illness, singer and guitarist Jeff Healey formed a group and released this, their first album after being signed by Arista Records. It featured "Angel Eyes", which reached #16 in Canada and #5 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart. "Hideaway" was nominated for a Grammy award for Best Rock Instrumental Performance. The album reached #22 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart and #25 in his native Canada. By May 1991 the album was certified Triple Platinum by the CRIA for 300,000 sold.
