The new tungsten core ensures that the breech plug will have greater longevity under higher pressures. The original .45/.50 cal breech plugs had a tough time holding up with the super magnum charges fired through the Paramount rifles. This new design fixes that issue. The CVA® Paramount VariFlame™ Breech Plug is specifically designed for use with large rifle primers on .45 and .50 caliber Paramount muzzleloaders.
