Sawdust Caesars (CD)
Rare UK Mod from 1978-1982.This essential collection, compiling 24 rarities from the UK Mod revival of the late 1970s, features an abundance of material from obscure 7' singles never before released on CD. Providing a snapshot of the second wave of possibly the most iconic youth cult in British rock history, this CD is all at once historic, educational and one hell of a damn good listen!Featuring underground classics by The Questions (later signed to Paul Weller's Respond label) The Lambretta's debut 'Go Steady' (produced by a then youthful Pete Waterman), and, recorded in between his appearances in 'Quadrophenia' and 'Breaking Glass', Phil Daniels' 'Kill Another Night'. The Manchester scene is represented by The Distractions, Stadium Dogs and The Donkeys, while Scotland's The Stiffs appear twice with 'Inside Out' and 'Goodbye My Love'. Many of the songs included here were cruelly overlooked at the time, and among those receiving a long overdue reassessment are 'White Mice' by The Mo-D
