Here is some information to keep in mind as you upload your photo: Please choose a high quality, high resolution photo, preferably the original for best results. If the image quality is poor, that will directly affect not only clarity but also contrast/brightness and darkness of the engraving.  The upload process is to give the customer a general idea of what their plaque will look like after it is engraved. We only receive the rectangular photo from the customer, not the oval shape cropping. Therefore, we will make the final decision in regards to how the photo and text will be cropped, style, size, orientation, and layout, etc. If you have trouble fitting the area that you want engraved inside of the "oval", please be advised that part of the subjects of your photo and other parts may be cutoff in the actual engraving. Typically, removing the background may yield better results for photos that don't require the "oval" shape
