These Black Lavender splits are big birds, really docile and friendly. The parents are all black but should produce black and lavender offspring because of the blue gene. They will be prolific layers of light brown eggs.  Wyandottes are a favorite amongst backyard flock owners for their dependable egg-laying, easygoing nature, and cold hardiness. They have a heavy body and small rose comb, which makes this breed perfect for cold climates because they are not prone to frostbite.
