Kentucky: The Bluegrass State

Kentucky, known as The Bluegrass State, is named for the bluegrass found in many of its fertile soils. This state is world-renowned for its horse racing, notably the Kentucky Derby, and its high-quality bourbon whiskey. The bluegrass music genre also originates from this region. Kentucky's landscape is adorned with rolling hills, horse farms, and the historic Cumberland Gap, a key passageway west for American settlers.
