Summer Bear extra Large Plate in Gold

This dinner plate is handbuilt and handcarved with a bear looking at her baby up in the tree. Bears scar up beech trees when they climb them for beech nuts, a big source of food in mast years. Black underglaze is carved through to white stoneware. The entire piece except the bear is glazed in white, giving the trees and background a soft hazy gray look. The plate is dinner plate sized, or makes a lovely one-of-a-kind serving plate. All Pieces are food safe, dishwasher safe and microwave safe. 9.5 inches square and 1.5 inches high.
