Elissa grew up and currently lives in New England, and the region's lush landscapes and changing seasons have made a lasting impact on her work, content, compositions, and color choices. Her current work centers on constructing layered, dimensional collages in response to the motifs and palette of the natural world.She meticulously hand-cuts, paints, and layers archival papers to create depth and movement within her compositions, inviting an interplay between light, shadow, and texture. These works are quietly autobiographical, evoking "remembered landscapes"and marking the passage of seasons, times of day, and significant moments.
