Horned Larks
Alex Warnick is a natural history artist based in southern Indiana. With a life-long passion for birds she partners with scientific institutions to highlight the world's bird life. Her work has been featured by the National Audubon society, the American Birding Association, and Birdwatcher’s Digest. She's a recipient of the Donald and Virginia Eckelberry Endowment from the Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia, and her work has been featured in exhibitions from London and Madrid to Santo Domingo. Currently she is working on a field guide to the birds of Costa Rica. If you don't find her outside watching birds then you'll find her inside painting them. "Muscatatuck" - This series spans seasons at my local birding patch--summer yellowthroats in butterfly weed and kingfishers in rose mallow; autumn sumac, birch, and bare trees filled with hidden owls, titmice, and kinglets; and winter fields dotted with buntings, longspurs, and larks.
